Moray is a beautiful and mysterious archaeological site located at approximately 50 kilometers of distance from Cusco City on a high plateau at about 3,500m.o.s.l./11,500ftwest. An enigmatic Inca site built in a spiral shape said to have been used as an agricultural type of laboratories as one of its theories On large bowl-like depression where has constructed a series of terraces that looks like an ancient Roman amphitheater built in a series of descending concentric rings.
Maras Salt Mines is an ancient Inca built site that has remained completely using the same techniques to extract different types of salt. The site on its own can be enjoyed by walking through its beautifully odd shaped pools. It is owned by native local communities and protected and regulated by the government.
